Welcome
Google is proud to call Denmark home to one of our data centers.
Around 150 people are employed at the site in a range of roles including computer technicians, electrical and mechanical engineers, catering, and security staff. Given increased economic activity expected in the area, we also anticipate an impact on job sectors like retail trade, hotels, and transportation.
Fredericia is one of six hyperscale data centers Google has in Europe, joining our other sites in Belgium, Finland, Ireland, and the Netherlands. We'll look to continue investing in Europe, leading the way by fulfilling our ambition to become carbon-free by 2030 and building ties with the local community.
Why did Google choose Fredericia?
Whenever Google looks for a new place to build a data center, it's important that the location has high-quality digital infrastructure and supports clean energy production. Denmark has both of these things and much more. In Fredericia, we’ve found a great business community and a location with existing infrastructure that fits what we’re looking for when we set out to build an efficient, modern data center.

Partnerships and events
To date, we've invested more than €8 million for initiatives in our European data center communities that build the local skills base, support underrepresented groups, and promote sustainability — like curriculum and coding programs, as well as educational support through teaching collaboration at area colleges.
In Fredericia, we have supported Fredericia Museum and Fredericia Maskinmesterskole (School of Marine Engineering), where the new data center program will help meet industry demand for a skilled workforce.
In the future, we hope to support new projects as well as identify opportunities for Googlers to share their time and expertise with the local community.
